• The pin may have been opened from its original packaging.
• Its unique serial number might be either 'Locked' (unclaimed) or 'Unlocked' (claimed) in the FiGPiN App by a previous owner.

But here's the kicker: an orphaned pin is not automatically bad, fake, or worthless. It's still a real FiGPiN with awesome character art! It just offers a different kind of collecting opportunity.

We believe in being totally upfront about every pin in the Orphanage. That’s why:

• Clear Descriptions: We provide detailed notes on each pin's condition.
• Actual Photos: You'll see pictures of the actual FiGPiN you'll be receiving, so there are no surprises.
• App Status – Locked or Unlocked: For each individual pin, we clearly state its app status. If a pin is 'Locked,' its unique serial number has not been claimed in the app. If it's 'Unlocked,' a previous owner has already claimed it. Keep in mind that for unlocked pins, you may not get the same app-based collector benefits as buying a brand-new, sealed example. But there is also benefits such as lower unlock position and so much more.
