My GLP-1 Journey: 70 Pounds Down, the Mental Battle, and the Daily Habits Keeping Me Going

I started my GLP-1 journey about a year ago, and honestly, the beginning was rough. That very first shot was miserable. I felt like complete shit, and it seriously had me wondering if this path was even for me.

By the time the second shot rolled around, my anxiety was through the roof. I was so terrified of being nauseous again that I almost didn't go through with it. But I pushed past the fear, took the shot, and to my absolute surprise—nothing. No nausea at all. My body had already gotten used to it.

Even after getting past the initial side effects, the results weren't overnight. I didn’t actually start losing weight until about a month and a half in. But as of today, I am 70 pounds down. I feel so much better about myself physically, but the mental journey is a whole different story.

The one thing that hasn’t changed is what happens when I look in the mirror. When I see my body without clothes on, I still see the "fat girl." I think a lot of us who go through massive weight loss struggle with this exact same thing, unfortunately. The physical changes happen, but our minds take a lot longer to catch up.

Right now, I’m focused on the long haul. I’m on a health journey to find the proper foods and drinks I actually like so I can keep this progress up.

One of my absolute staples has been the drinks from the Loaded Tea Shop. Before I found them, I was not drinking nearly enough water, to the point where my doctor was getting really concerned. My mom actually found these teas for me, and they’ve been a lifesaver. I like most of the flavors, and they are packed with things that make me feel great—the aloe really helps my system, and the B vitamins give me a great boost (there are honestly too many benefits to list, but those are the big ones for me).
